Laura Jade
I’m Laura Jade, tattooing since 2009.
My work is rooted in traditional ornamental design—florals, flowing patterns, feminine and strong. Timeless. Graceful. When a client tells me their tattoo feels like it’s always been there, like they are more themselves with it than they were without it—that’s when I know I’ve done what I’m here to do.
I got my start in body art at 15, running a little henna business out of my hometown, Newport, Oregon. At 18, I took a solo trip to India, and everything shifted. That journey changed the trajectory of my life, and not long after, I found my way into tattooing.
A lot of what inspires me comes from textiles, woodblock prints, kimono fabrics, the seasons, and the elements. These influences guide how I design— representing the wearer through symbolism rather than the literal.
My husband, Jeff Gogue, and I run Olinjär Studio in Bellingham, Washington. Beyond tattooing, we teach, publish, and explore the philosophy of this art form through seminars and workshops.
